Answer: the first may of the year is called the May day. This day commemorated the historic struggle of the workers of Chicago in 1886. rose against exploitation of the vested class and raised slogan for fixing eight-hour work day instead of fourteen or, even more hour working day. The vested class plotted to choke the voice of the workers. All on a sudden the police fired into a crowd of strikers of the city of Chicago in 1886. It killed at last one striker. Seriously wounded five of six others and injured an undetermined number. All the privileges workers enjoy today-a minimum wage, safety laws and eight-hour work day came about due to the sacrifice of the workers in 1886. The events of May Day 1886 warn the workers that they will continue to be exploited until they stand up and speak our to gain better working conditions, better pay and better lives. Every year a slogan is raised, ‘O’ workers of the world, be united and stand up.
